Restorative Workshop June 2016

A restorative yoga workshop will take place Sunday 26th June from 10:30am-1pm in Felda gym.  It is not necessary to be a member of the gym to participate in the workshop.

Restorative yoga is a very gentle form of yoga and therefore is suitable for people of all ages and capabilities, even those with little or no yoga experience.  Props such as blankets, bolsters and blocks are used to assist your body into each posture making them effortless and deeply relaxing.

This practice is specifically designed to open the body in a passive way which has a calming effect on the central nervous system and the mind.  This in turn releases tension from the physical body and the emotional body.  Your internal organs relax leaving all systems running more efficiently.  The quality of your breathing improves replenishing your energy levels.

This is also a great recovery class for athletes or those suffering from injury as it gives the tendons, ligaments and fascia a chance to lengthen and relax.

The workshop will conclude with a half hour yoga nidra.  Yoga nidra is a systematic guided form of meditation that produces a profound relaxing effect on body and mind.

I believe restorative yoga is a great yin to our busy yang lifestyles.  Everyone is always so busy all of the time. This workshop gives you a chance to reconnect with yourself, rebalance, refocus so you leave feeling lighter, brighter, restored.
